This free event for readers will take place on Thursday, November 12th, between 12 and 2, in Waterstones, Piccadilly, London.

 

Please note that our usual venue, the 5th View Bar, will be closed for refurbishment, so this time we are in the same building, but have moved down to the Jermyn Street Cafe, which is situated on the mezzanine level near the back of the store, overlooking Jermyn Street and is accessed by a spiral stair from the stationery and gift department.

 

There will be goodie bags for everyone and a free tea, coffee or soft drink.

 

I need some idea of numbers for the venue and to make sure I bring enough of the very special and unique goodie bags, which have been created by my costumier son Robin, so if you think you can come, please fill in the form to be added to the list above.

I won't be able to bring any books to this event, so bring your own if you would like them signed, or take some of the signed peel and stick bookplates that will be out on the table, along with other goodies. I can see even less than last time so though I can sign copies of books, any dedications will have to be written by a volunteer! And you will have to tell me who you are, too, even if I've known you for years...

 

It looks like access to the café is only via the spiral stairs, but there may be a lift available. If you have specific access needs I would recommend contacting them directly to check.

         

If you arrive alone and don't know anyone, do ask for Norma or Juliet - my author friends Norma Curtis or Juliet Greenwood, aka the Goodie Bag Fairies. But it is a lovely, friendly event and everyone has a love of reading in common, so talk to each other.

As usual, after a few minutes I'll go and sit at one end of the room with the 5 Minute Chair next to me, so anyone who wants to can come and chat, have a photo, have a book signed or just say hello. Tell Norma if you are on your lunch hour and can't stay long, or there wasn't time for me to talk to you last time, so she can make sure you can get in early this time!
